A lightweight Chrome extension that blocks harmful websites, enforces schedules, and locks settings with a parent password. No monthly fees. No app to install.
KidsGuard is purpose-built for parental control โ not self-discipline apps repurposed for kids.
Block specific harmful sites, or flip to Whitelist mode to allow only a curated set of safe sites โ perfect for young children. In both modes, the blocked page clearly shows which domain was stopped and lets an admin grant a temporary exception on the spot.
Create multiple active block periods and choose specific days of the week (e.g., Mon-Fri 8AMโ3PM for school, and 9PMโ7AM everyday for bedtime).
We've completely overhauled our security engine to prevent tech-savvy kids from bypassing the extension. KidsGuard now features:
Need to grant a quick supervised exception? When a child hits the blocked page, an admin can enter their password directly there to unlock that specific site for 30 minutes โ without opening Settings.
Blocking works in Incognito (Private) mode too โ a common bypass kids use that most extensions miss.
Block entire categories with a single toggle:
No need to manually add thousands of domains โ we handle that for you.
Use *.io to block an entire TLD, or *.example.com to block all subdomains including the apex. Paste a full URL and KidsGuard automatically extracts the clean domain for you.
Settings are synced via your Google account โ works across all your family's Chrome profiles.
Get an immediate email alert if the extension is uninstalled. Stay informed if protection is bypassed.
Deeply clean YouTube by hiding Shorts sidebar tabs, homepage shelves, and search reels. Eliminate the "scroll hole" entirely.
Visualize blocking trends with a high-fidelity bar chart showing the last 7 days of protection right in your settings.
See exactly how much protection your child is getting with a persistent counter of blocked attempts in the popup.
Automatically force "Strict" results on Google, Bing, and DuckDuckGo. Filter out explicit images and videos at the root.
Click "Add to Chrome" and the extension installs instantly. No account or signup needed.
Add sites to block, configure a schedule, and lock settings with your admin password.
KidsGuard silently protects in the background. Your kids can't disable or modify it.

Yes. KidsGuard is specifically designed to block sites in Incognito (Private) mode โ a common workaround that most free extensions miss. Just make sure to enable the "Allow in Incognito" permission after installation.
Blacklist mode (free): All sites are allowed by default; you manually block specific harmful ones. Whitelist mode (Pro): All sites are blocked by default; you manually allow only the sites you approve. Whitelist mode is the safest option for young children.
KidsGuard stores all settings locally in your Chrome profile using chrome.storage.sync.
No browsing data, blocked site lists, or personal information is ever sent to our servers. Your
data stays in your Google account.
Yes. Because settings sync via your Google account, any Chrome profile signed in with the same account will automatically inherit the blocklist and scheduling rules.
Yes โ without opening Settings. When your child hits the KidsGuard blocked page, click "๐ Unlock for 30 min" and enter your admin password. The site becomes accessible for exactly 30 minutes, then automatically re-blocks. The same brute-force lockout applies, so wrong guesses are rate-limited.
KidsGuard supports *.domain.com wildcards. Adding *.io blocks all .io sites. Adding *.google.com blocks all Google subdomains while leaving google.com itself accessible. You can also paste a full URL (e.g. https://youtube.com/watch?v=abc) and KidsGuard automatically strips it down to just the domain.
